Penguins at Punta Tombo

After Cueva de las Manos in Perito Moreno, we bussed it to Puerto Madryn where we got a sweet little casita (one room studio) for half the price of a hostel double. Rock on!

From there we explored Punta Tombo (the biggest penguin colony outside Antarctica) where we took this cute viddy. There were penguins scattered all over the place, mostly standing stock still like living statues, but some inquisitive and cute as pie.

We also went on to Gaiman which was a Welsh colony and, frankly, stuffed our faces with Té Gales (Welsh tea, incorporating bread, cheese, lemon pie etc. etc.). Suitably rotund, we visited this crazy garden made of rubbish (El Desafio = the challenge). These flowers were made out of the top parts of plastic bottles, cut up and curled and painted. On the back wall, there are other flowers made out of tin cans. It was surreal.
